A Typical Day At Camp

Camp sounds like a blast, but what does a day look like? Does everyone’s schedule look the same?

Camp is fast-paced, fun, and busy. No two staff members’ schedules are exactly alike, but almost all of our staff follow a similar pattern. This will give you a better understanding of what to expect each day at camp.

Daily Camp Schedule

Our staff is a mixture of cabin counselors, non-cabin male and female staff, and head staff. Daily schedules vary based on your role at camp.

7:45 Rising Bell: Cabin counselors get the day started by helping campers get ready and oversee the cleaning of their cabin. Other staff will get ready to head to breakfast. Some non-cabin staff will be assigned to support each meal – one of the most fun parts of the job!

8:15 Breakfast: Buffet style by cabin age groups for most meals featuring delicious and plentiful food with vegetarian options.

9:00 Assembly: The day begins with our community gathering, singing songs, and hearing announcements. Activity Heads will start setting up their activity areas.

9:30 – 12:30 Activities: Three activity periods are built into the morning. Campers will choose these when they arrive at camp. You will teach! Most of our counselors teach the same activity each period.

1:00 Lunch: A much-needed meal after the fun and busy morning.

1:45 – 2:45 Rest Hour: Campers and Staff enjoy a nice break, relaxing in their cabins playing quiet card games or reading. Some activity staff may start and end rest hours earlier to set up for the afternoon.

3:00 – 5:00 Activities: Two activity periods for campers and staff.

5:00 Choice Period: With no scheduled activities, campers have the opportunity to try out different areas of camp and have a bit of downtime. You may find yourself hanging by the lake with campers, shooting hoops, playing disc golf, or cleaning up your activity area.

6:15 Dinner: You may be eating spaghetti and meatballs, chicken alfredo, or pizza – Yum! Some non-cabin staff support the meal, while others prepare for the Evening Programs.

7:15 – 8:15 Evening Program: Typically split into age groups campers and staff play games like capture the flag, dodgeball, tennis, or take turns going off the rope swing and waterslide. All staff take part in the evening program!

8:15 Snack: Campers and Staff enjoy snacks like goldfish, cheez-its, or warm soft-baked pretzels before heading to the cabin for showers.

8:30 – 9:30 Cabin Time: Cabin counselors will help campers get ready for bed with support from Head Staff walking around camp.

9:30 Lights Out: Lights are off in camp, campers head to bed, and Cabin Counselors read to their campers.

10:00 Counselor Time: Roughly every other night, cabin counselors have free time to hang out in the Counselor Room, work out, or make phone calls. Time to recharge!

12:00 Back In Cabins: All staff are back in cabins by midnight, ensuring a good night’s sleep for the next day!
